Robots are efficiently taking orders and serving drinks at Kura Sushi in Irvine. Integrated within Kura Sushi’s unique rotating sushi bar concept, Kur-B the KuraBot is designed to deliver items tableside and help reduce wait times.

Located in the Diamond Jamboree shopping center, Kur-B is Kura Sushi’s newest addition according to Hideto Sugimoto, director of system and menu development at Kura Sushi.

Per Sugimoto, prior to the addition of Kur-B, servers would greet guests, take drink orders, and deliver drinks to the table. However, with Kur-B, guests can order tableside and have their drinks delivered by Kur-B.

“We are thrilled to provide our guests with new interactive technologies that enhance their dining experiences with Kur-B the KuraBot delivery robots that bring beverages and condiments tableside, and new touch panel tablet features that include an added drink menu and self-service checkout,” he said. “Our unique restaurant service model serves to bring Japanese culture and tradition to our guests through a stimulating experience with authentic Japanese dishes and conveyor belt technology, as it’s enjoyed in Japan. We are continually looking for new developments to enrich the guest experience and are elated to be able to bring these new elements to our eater-tainment restaurants.”
